Formerly The Journal of Design and Technology Education, the journal was relaunched in Spring 2005 as an international journal.

Founded over 40 years ago by Professor John Eggleston for Trentham Books, it publishes articles at the leading edge of the worldwide development of design and technology. It features substantial literature reviews, which serve to consolidate the contributions made to design and technology education for the researchers and teachers in the field today. Design and Technology Education is now the official journal of the Design and Technology Association.

Supported by a distinguished team of Design and Technology specialists, the editor is Dr Eddie Norman of Loughborough University.
